תּוֹלָעִים בַּמַּאֲכָלTolaim in Food

Every insect and parasite that gets into food — in water, fish, produce and meat — set against the sugya of tolaim. For each creature: where it was really born, and whether it ever came out — with a live scientific reading of the organism itself.

This is a map of the sugya, not a psak. It places each creature in the category the Gemara and Shulchan Aruch discuss — born in its place, or come from outside and separated — and states the she’eilah on which the poskim are machmir or meikil, without deciding it.
